Dental Exam & X-rays

A dental exam is a very important step for your dentist to determine the health of your teeth, gums and mouth. The dentist will gently examine your mouth and explore the condition of your teeth and gums and will guide you through the process step by step. Dental X-rays are extremely important for the dentist to understand the problem that you are facing with your teeth. It enables the dentist to get a general overview of your mouth, esp. those hard to reach areas. X-rays allow the dentist to see all of your teeth from the crown to the bottom of the root, check for root fractures, abscesses, jaw fractures, and any hard tissue change in your bone that supports the teeth etc.

Dental Crowns, Veneers & Crowns

Dental crowns are caps placed on top of damaged teeth. Crowns are used to protect, cover and restore the shape of your teeth when fillings don’t solve the problem. Dental crowns can be made out of metals, porcelain, resin and ceramics. They typically don’t require special care over time other than regular good oral hygiene.

Dental Crown- A crown, sometimes known as a dental cap, is a type of dental restoration that completely caps or encircles a tooth or dental implant. Crowns are often needed when a large cavity threatens the ongoing health of a tooth. They are typically glued to the tooth using dental cement. Crowns are often used to improve the strength or appearance of teeth

Dental Bridges- A bridge is a fixed dental restoration (a fixed dental prosthesis) used to replace one or more missing teeth by joining an artificial tooth definitively to adjacent teeth or dental implants. Bridges are the traditional way of replacing missing teeth. A dental bridge is a false tooth, fused between two porcelain crowns to fill in the area left by a missing tooth. The two crowns holding it in place are attached to teeth on each side of the false tooth.

Veneers- A veneer is a layer of material placed over a tooth. Veneers improve the aesthetics of a smile and/or protect the tooth’s surface from damage. Dental veneers (sometimes called porcelain veneers or dental porcelain laminates) are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-coloured materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve their appearance. These shells are bonded to the front of the teeth changing their colour, shape, size, or length.

Clear aligners to straighten teeth

Clear Aligners are transparent trays that are used to straighten teeth just like braces. They are made of special material and use gentle and constant force to move the teeth in the required position without going through the hassles of metal wires and brackets. They are custom made for each patient through a digital scan.

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a preferred treatment to replace a tooth or teeth lost due to an accident, gum disease or tooth decay. It is a titanium screw that is placed into the jawbone beneath the gum line that allows us to mount a replacement tooth or bridge into that area.

Sedation for Anxious Patients

Dental sedation helps reduce anxiety, discomfort, and pain during dental procedures and makes your visit comfortable and easier. This is done by medications that are given orally or intravenously depending on the level of anxiety and the procedure. At Dazzle Dental, the dentists and staff are qualified to perform sedation as per the Dental Council of New Zealand guidelines.

ACC and WINZ Treatment

ACC Treatment
We provide ‘no surcharges’ for ACC initial & follow up consultations and x-rays. For any subsequent treatments, ACC will make a contribution depending upon the individual cases towards any dental treatment and the patients will be advised of their share towards the same.

WINZ Treatment
We provide Winz consultation and can provide affordable dental treatments. The patients need to book an appointment for an examination. We do not charge for Winz examinations and consultations, however, if x-rays are taken, we will advise the patient of any charges prior to the appointment

Emergency Dental Services

Dental emergencies can be sudden toothache or pain related to dental infections, sudden trauma or accidents and can be very difficult to deal with. We provide relief of pain, initial management of acute infections and all emergency dental procedures. We can also see you on weekends by prior arrangement.

Senior Citizen Discount

We offer a 10% senior citizen discount to all super gold cardholders. No questions asked and it is on all dental services and treatments.

Anti-Wrinkle Injections & Fillers

Our dentists are registered members of AADFA and focus on the overall Dentofacial health by wrinkle reduction with Botox / Dysport and volume enhancement by dermal fillers.

Free Treatment under 18 years

Dr Sim Sood has a special interest in treating paediatric patients. She has the most gentle and caring approach and believes in making the dental visit a comfortable experience for the little kiddos. She is very patient and makes them feel at ease. She believes in the ‘tell, show and do technique’ and also can provide oral sedation for paediatric patients. We provide free dental treatment for teenagers from 13 years up to the age of 18 and we accept referrals from the Auckland Regional Dental Clinics for under 13 year olds.

Mouthguards and Occlusal Splints

An occlusal splint is a special type of mouthguard that people wear at night to help prevent teeth grinding. Also known as bruxism, grinding of the teeth can cause tooth damage and related problems such as headache, jaw pain, and bite disorders.

Extraction & Wisdom Teeth Removal

Wisdom teeth are the last teeth at the end of your gums. The medical name for wisdom teeth is the third molars and there are usually four of them. Wisdom teeth usually grow through the gums during the late teens or early twenties. As they grow through, wisdom teeth are often obstructed by the other teeth and the lack of space can emerge at an angle. They may end up in the wrong place or only emerge partially. Wisdom teeth that grow through this way are known as impacted. We offer simple and surgical extractions and wisdom teeth removal with options of oral and IV sedation to make the process comfortable for the patients.

Dental Hygiene and Periodontal Treatments

We believe oral hygiene and regular scale and polish sessions are very important in maintaining oral health and gums. Dental scaling is routinely performed to help patients with gum disease and excessive plaque build-up. If you have healthy gums, the tissue will fit tightly around the tooth and keep plaque out. However, if gum disease begins to form, this tissue will loosen. With gum disease, you’ll begin to develop deeper pockets. These can fill with plaque, worsening your problems and causing symptoms like bad breath.

White Composite Fillings

Composite resins, or tooth-coloured fillings, provide good durability and resistance to fracture in small- to mid-size fillings that need to withstand moderate pressure from the constant stress of chewing. They can be used on either front or back teeth. They are a good choice for people who prefer that their fillings look more natural.

Root Canal Treatment

Root canal treatment is a procedure that can save the tooth when the nerve of the root is inflamed and infected. Usually, the cause results from deep decay, a crack or chip, or repeated dental procedures.

Free Treatment under 13 with ARDS referral

All children under 13 years need to bring a referral letter from ARDS to access free dental treatment. We provide conscious sedation (at an extra cost) for anxious kids to help manage their fear and make it a more comfortable experience for them. Kids from year 9 can register directly with us to access free dental care. There is no surcharge for dental treatments we provide for kids except for sedation.
